Rajwada silk holds black better than most weaves: the yarn takes the dye evenly, so the colour reads rich rather than flat, and the animal-motif weaving catches light against it. The red blouse is a deliberate contrast — it keeps a black drape from looking severe.

Looking after a black silk
Dry clean only. Black silk is the least forgiving colour for perfume and deodorant marks, so let both dry fully before you drape. Store it folded in soft cotton or muslin, away from sunlight, and refold along a different line every few months so the creases do not set. Iron on low with a cotton cloth over the zari.
