Blue Kalamkari Floral Pure Cotton Saree — White & Blue Floral Border, 6.3 m with Blouse Piece
Pickup available at Chapel Road Fateh Maidan Abids
Usually ready in 2-4 days
A blue pure handloom cotton saree with a Kalamkari floral hand-block print and a white-and-blue floral border — 6.3 metres in total, 5.5 m saree plus a 0.8 m blouse piece.
Blue and white is the oldest Kalamkari palette there is. Indigo was the first reliable fast dye available to the printers of Machilipatnam, and the tradition of blue florals on an undyed cotton ground goes back centuries before anyone thought to sell it as a look.
In pure cotton it is a working saree. Light on the shoulder, cool through an Indian afternoon, and easy to drape without the slipping you get from synthetics — which is why it suits a full day at a desk as readily as a festival lunch.

Washing
Dry clean the first wash to set the indigo. From then on, gentle cold hand wash on its own and dry in shade — indigo bleeds for the first few washes and lightens in direct sun. Iron while damp.
Handcrafted and curated by Sri Manisha Sarees. Slight irregularities in the block print are the signature of genuine hand printing, not a defect.
