Dark Green Kanchivaram Silk Saree — Silver Weaving & Gold Pattu Border, 6.3 m with Blouse
A dark green Kanchivaram silk saree worked in silver with a gold pattu border — authentic handloom, 6.3 metres with blouse piece.
Silver and gold together on one saree is a difficult call that works here because the two metals are kept apart: silver through the body, gold confined to the border. Mix them in the same area and a saree looks unresolved; separate them cleanly and you get two kinds of light doing different jobs.
Against dark green, the silver stays cool and the gold border frames it. It is a more contemporary result than a straight gold-on-green Kanchi, without leaving the tradition behind.

Dry clean only, with a cleaner used to pattu silk. Silver tarnishes faster than gold in humidity, so store it dry in muslin and air it twice a year. Fold rather than hang, and change the fold line each time.
