Violet is the shade most people walk past in a shop and then think about on the way home. On handloom cotton it behaves beautifully — deep and regal in daylight, soft and quiet under evening light, and never flat the way a printed violet goes flat.
This is genuine Pochampally ikkat from Telangana. The yarn is tied and resist-dyed before it ever reaches the loom, which is exactly why the motifs carry that feathered, slightly blurred edge no print can imitate. Pure handloom cotton, woven by hand, sold by the metre.
How much to order: 2.5 metres for a plain kurta, 3 metres for a kurta with full sleeves, 5.5 metres for a kurta with a matching bottom.
Care: first wash cold and separate, dry in shade, no bleach, medium iron. It softens with every wash.
