A hot pink pure Pochampally double ikat silk saree with a contrast green ikat border and pallu, and a green blouse piece with zari border.
Pink and green is the combination Telugu weddings are known for — the colours of turmeric ceremonies, haldi mornings and pelli koothuru functions. The bright pink body is cheerful and youthful, and the green ikat border and pallu ground it with a traditional touch.
As a double ikat, both sets of threads were dyed to pattern before weaving, so the motifs are crisp, symmetrical and part of the fabric itself.
