Designer White & Gold Zari Cotton Silk Saree — Contrast Pallu & Blouse, Onam Special
A designer white and gold zari cotton silk saree with a contrast pallu, cut for Onam and the South Indian festival season and supplied with a blouse piece.
The contrast pallu is what separates this one from a plain kasavu. A traditional Kerala saree keeps gold on white from end to end; this one breaks that at the shoulder, which gives the drape a visible finish in photographs and lets it work outside Onam as well — a reception, a Pooja, a house function.
Underneath, the fabric is the same practical cotton silk: light enough for a humid morning, weighty enough not to fly about, and far more forgiving than a pure silk if a meal is involved.

A note on the gold
Zari dulls with moisture long before the cloth wears out. Keep the saree dry, wrap it in muslin rather than plastic, and iron with a cotton cloth laid over the pallu.
