When the diyas are lit on Deepavali night, purple and rani pink is the pairing that glows rather than fades. This Pochampally patola ikkat pattu cheera puts a deep royal-purple body against a vivid rani pink pallu — two jewel tones that sit together the way the festival itself does: rich, warm and a little bold.
Every motif you see was fixed in the yarn before weaving. In Pochampally the weavers call it pogudu bandhu — threads are tied in tiny sections, dyed, untied and re-tied, so the geometric patola grid forms only when warp meets weft on the loom. It is the same family of craft as Gujarat's Patan patola and Odisha's bandha, done the Telangana way, which is why the edges of each motif carry that soft, feathered blur no printing machine can copy.
The rani pink pallu falls over the shoulder in a clean contrast panel, and the border picks up the same pink so the purple never looks heavy. A designer blouse piece completes it. Wear it for Lakshmi puja, a Karthika masam muhurtham, a nischitartham or a winter reception — and since this is a single handloom piece, there is only one.
