The Nizami weaves are Hyderabad's own. They came out of the courts of the Nizams, where the brief was grandeur you could actually move in — hence soft silk rather than the stiff, armour-weight pattu of the south. The saree has the shine and the gold, but it drapes close to the body instead of standing away from it.
Red with a gold pallu is the safest bet in a wedding wardrobe and the hardest to get wrong. The plain blouse is deliberate: with a pallu this heavy, a worked blouse would be one thing too many.
