Sico is short for silk-cotton, and it is the most sensible fabric ever woven for this climate.
Pure silk is beautiful and unbearable by noon. Pure cotton breathes but will not hold a drape. Sico gives you silk in one direction and cotton in the other, so the cloth falls with a soft sheen while still letting air through — which is precisely why Pochampally weavers have made it for generations.

Is sico silk real silk?
Yes, genuine silk blended with cotton on a handloom. It is not an artificial silk or a polyester substitute, and we would tell you if it were.
How do I care for it?
Dry clean recommended. Sico tolerates a gentle cold hand wash better than pure silk, but dry cleaning keeps the sheen longer.
Will the colour look exactly like the photo?
