Red never needs an occasion to justify it. A true deep red — not maroon, not rust — carried across handwoven Pochampally ikkat cotton, where the dye sits in the yarn itself rather than on the surface.
That is the difference between ikkat and print: here each thread is tied and dyed before weaving, so the pattern runs right through the cloth and looks the same on both faces. Woven by hand in Telangana, pure cotton, sold by the metre.
How much to order: 2.5 metres for a kurta, 3 metres with full sleeves, 5.5 metres for a kurta and bottom set.
Care: cold wash separately at first, dry in shade, avoid bleach, iron on medium.
