Grey softens pink, and pink stops grey from going dull. Woven together in a 3D ikkat, the two shade into each other across the pattern and give the cloth a sense of depth that photographs rarely do justice to.
Pure Pochampally handloom cotton from Telangana, with the yarn tied and dyed in careful sections before weaving — the slow part of the process, and the reason the motif has that soft, dimensional edge. Sold by the metre.
Wears well as: an office kurta, a long jacket over plain cotton, or a co-ord set.
How much to order: 2.5 metres for a kurta, 3 metres with full sleeves, 5.5 metres for kurta and bottom.
Care: first wash cold and separate, shade dry, no bleach, medium iron.
