From the looms of Kashi to your Deepavali puja — this is a Banarasi in its most classic form. A deep royal blue silk, scattered end to end with small golden butti, and a pallu woven thick with golden brocade.
The brocade is the heart of any Banarasi. On the loom, an extra weft of zari is lifted in and out of the silk to build the pattern — this is the old kinkhab technique of Varanasi, where gold thread is woven into the cloth rather than embroidered on it. That is why the pallu has weight and a raised richness when you run your fingers over it, and why it catches every diya and every camera flash.
Royal blue and gold is a combination that never looks dated: regal at a wedding reception, devotional at Lakshmi puja, and striking at a winter muhurtham where most guests choose red. The butti keep the body lively without making it heavy, so it drapes easily through a long function. Comes with a designer blouse piece to style as simple or as grand as you like.
