Kalamkari Handwork Cotton Linen Saree in Maroon with Attached Kalamkari Border, Running Pallu & Designer Blouse

Maroon is the colour that lets a Kalamkari border do its job. The traditional Kalamkari palette is built on madder root and iron-black — rust, oxblood, indigo, ochre — and against a maroon ground those tones look like they grew there rather than being set on top.
The construction: a plain cotton linen body, an attached Kalamkari border, and a running Kalamkari pallu that continues the handwork instead of ending at a join. A designer blouse piece is included. An attached border is the only way to put this much hand-drawn detail against an undisturbed plain ground — a loom would have to compromise one or the other.
Cotton linen keeps it light and structured. It pleats cleanly, does not cling, and gets better with each wash rather than worse.
Where it works
Festive daywear, Dasara and Navratri, Karwa Chauth and Bhogi, family functions where you want colour without heavy zari, office festive days, housewarming lunches, and as a gift saree for someone who already owns enough silk.
