How leheriya works
Leheriya means wave, and the pattern is built on the diagonal — never horizontal, never vertical. That single decision is what makes it move: a diagonal line on a draped saree travels with the body instead of cutting across it, which is why leheriya reads as alive where a block print reads as still.
Here it is printed in the Kalamkari manner across a green ground, with a gold border on both edges and the pattern massed into a designer pallu.
Why green
Green is the colour of beginnings — the shade that turns up at every Gruhapravesham and every first festival in a new house. Against gold it is also warmer than blue and calmer than red, which is a rare combination to find in a saree you can wear all day.
The practical bit
Soft silk, 6.3 m including the 0.8 m designer blouse piece. Light enough for a morning puja through to an evening meal. Dry clean only, and keep it out of direct sunlight so the green holds.
