The leheriya
Leheriya means wave, and the pattern only works on the diagonal. A diagonal line travels with a draped body instead of cutting across it, so the lavender moves as you walk rather than sitting flat. Printed here in the Kalamkari manner, with a gold border closing both edges and the pattern massed into a designer pallu.
Wear it to
A daytime function. A seemantham or a baby shower. Haldi, if you would rather not be in yellow. An office Diwali where full silk would be too much.
Care
Soft silk, 6.3 m including the blouse piece. Dry clean only. Lavender is a dye that fades in sunlight faster than most, so store it folded in cotton and away from a window.
