The base is handloom cotton-silk — the blend that gives you silk's fall with cotton's breathability. Over it runs heavy thread work, embroidered rather than printed, across a Kalamkari ground. A fancy dupatta and a plain bottom complete the set without competing for attention.
Thread work at this density is measured in days, not hours. There is no mechanised shortcut that produces the same raised, slightly irregular surface.

What is cotton-silk?
A handloom blend — cotton in one direction, silk in the other. It drapes closer to silk but breathes closer to cotton, which makes it far more wearable in Hyderabad than pure silk.
How do I care for heavy thread work?
Dry clean only. Store flat or folded with a cotton cloth over the worked area, and never iron directly on the embroidery.
