Cool sea-green melts into blue-green across this length of Pochampally Ikkat, the two tones locking together in the weave's crisp diamond lattice. It's handloom cotton from the ikat town of Pochampally in Telangana, where the yarn is tie-dyed before it ever reaches the loom — which is what gives ikat its gently blurred, painterly edges.
Cut the length you need; it's sold by the metre. The cotton is soft and breathable, so it stitches up beautifully into kurtas, easy summer dresses or a co-ord set. Wash it cold and on its own for the first couple of times, dry in the shade, and skip the bleach — the colours will stay deep for years.
