Ferozi is turquoise — the blue that has gone green at the edges. It is the hardest blue to get right and the most rewarding when it lands, because it is cool without being cold and it lifts a complexion instead of draining it.

Paired here with a deep tangy blue pallu, so the saree stays inside one colour family from end to end. You get a clear break at the shoulder without the jarring effect of an unrelated contrast, which is what makes this one as correct at a morning function as it is at an evening one.

The patola geometry — stepped diamonds, banded borders — is printed onto cotton silk. Light, breathable, holds a pleat, and comes in well under the price of a woven ikat.
