Green and magenta is the oldest contrast in South Indian weaving and it has survived every passing trend for a reason — the two colours are opposite enough to hold each other up, and both flatter Indian skin under warm light. Here it is a vibrant green body closing into a magenta pallu, with golden zari running between them.
Floral motifs across the body are Jamdani thread work, lifted into the weave with supplementary weft threads rather than applied afterwards, so the pattern has depth you can feel with a hand. The border finishes in a temple border, and tassels are worked along the edge.
